The sawmill sector of the forest industry presents many opportunities for near-term deployment of biomass conversion technologies.
Sawmill by-products once produced a profitable or break-even by-product; they are now waste products. Opportunity and financial incentive for sawmills to process wood waste into value added products using on-site biomass conversion technology in addition to onsite use of heat and electricity.
Sawmill and pulp mills traditionally use biomass to produce heat and electricity. Especially in difficult economic times, most firms are cautious to replace aging equipment or expand existing capacity.
The Tucker Solution will process wood waste to produce heat, electricity (Renewable energy), and value-added revenue streams (Activated carbon).
The Us Forestry service research project discovered the bio char produced from the Tucker technology when activated resulted in “Gold Standard” activated carbon just slightly below activated carbon produced from coconut shells.
